Welcome!  I am grateful to be in the Seaside School District teaching special education in the Life Skills class and excited to meet families and students.  My door is always open and phone calls are welcome any time!

A little bit about me.  When I am not at school working with students, I spend time with my family and friends.  I love animals, the ocean, mountains, and anything that has to do with being outdoors.  In the summer, I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and riding miles and miles on the back of a motorcycle with my best friend!  For years, I rode horses and even learned to jump and participated in a few hunter jumper shows.  When I was a youth, I played the violin in the San Jose Youth Symphony. Singing is another passion of mine.  I'm excited about life and enjoy experiencing it.

As an adult, I chose a career in the real estate profession as a paralegal.  It was fascinating and challenging.  But, there was a void in my heart.  Later in my professional career, I realized that I wanted to make more of an impact on the lives of others.  Because I have a love for learning and find joy in encouraging others to learn and grow, I chose to change the direction of my career and became a teacher in special education working with special needs individuals.

I have a heart for people with special needs and am passionate about guiding them through life's challenges with the hopes that they become productive individuals in their family and community.  My heart smiles when they discover their strengths and excel and when they discover their passions and find ways to experience them.

I promise to give my all to teach, inspire, motivate and encourage your child to achieve excellence by building upon their passions and strengths. My goal is to create a successful learning environment, by using cooperative learning techniques and establishing a true community in the classroom. We, as a whole at Seaside High School, promote positive management opportunities that motivate students to be responsible for their own behavior. I will work diligently to encourage positive interactions among students and staff in addition to providing a safe, engaging and encouraging atmosphere!

Welcome to the Life Skills Classroom!
